Posy Floral Tub Chair: Linen Print, Distressed Baroque Legs, Cream or Grey

By Furniture1002 min read

Posy cream floral tub chair with square arms and distressed turned wooden legs

The Posy is the one patterned chair in our lounge range, and it is unapologetic about it: a floral print on linen, a tub shape with square arms, and solid wood legs turned in a baroque profile and distressed to look like they have been in the family for a while. Five buyers have reviewed it and the word that recurs is beautiful.

What it is

A tub armchair. The back and arms form one continuous curve, upholstered in a floral-print linen, with a foam-filled seat cushion included. The legs are solid wood, turned in a baroque style and deliberately distressed for a vintage feel. It arrives flat-packed with illustrated instructions.

Who it suits

A spare bedroom, a bay window, a cottage sitting room, or anywhere a plain chair would be one plain thing too many. The tub shape means it takes less room than a winged armchair while still holding you from three sides, which is why two of its reviewers put it under a window.

Sally's review: "Quality, sturdiness, colour, pattern, easy to assemble, just a beautiful piece of furniture. Cannot fault anything, it is so well made and crafted. And the price is quite frankly amazing."

Cream or grey

Cream is the version in our photograph, warm and bright, and the one that reads as cottage garden. Grey is the same floral on a cooler ground, for a room that wants pattern without warmth.

What buyers say

"I love the chair, perfect for my spare bedroom, looks more expensive than it really is."

"Great chair. Puts together really easily. Very sturdy and comfortable. Fits nicely under the window."

Living with it

Vacuum the linen with a soft brush and blot spills; a printed linen wants blotting rather than rubbing so the pattern stays crisp. The legs want a dust and nothing more; the distressing is meant to be there.

Frequently asked questions

What is a tub chair?

An armchair whose back and arms form one continuous curve, like the rim of a tub, so it holds you from three sides. It takes less floor space than a winged armchair and suits a corner or a window.

Are the legs real wood?

The product page states solid wood legs, turned in a baroque profile and distressed on purpose for a vintage look. The distressing is the finish, not wear.

Does it come with a cushion?

Yes, a matching seat cushion is included, foam-filled for extra padding.

Is it easy to build?

It arrives flat-packed with illustrated instructions, and buyers describe it as easy and putting together really easily.

Cream or grey?

Cream is the brighter, cottage-garden version and the one in our photograph. Grey is the same print on a cooler ground, for a room that wants the pattern without the warmth.
